Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Yet he's still working on making the DOGE cuts permanent, with not a single message about reversing them.

Lip service, why would I expect anything else?

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 6 points 11 hours ago

Pot. Kettle. Black.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 10 points 17 hours ago

wait till Elon turns this into "I sacrificed everything I have for the fight against Tyranny"

[–] Eldritch@lemmy.world 150 points 1 day ago (4 children)

A fallout between Don Taco and the Ketamine Kid would be beneficial to the public. I'll believe it when I actually see it. Until they stop doing this empty posturing I'm not going to believe it.

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.dbzer0.com 79 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Don Taco and the Ketamine Kid. Not sure if you just made that up, but I i really like it

[–] Eldritch@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

All culture and ideas are ultimately derived from other culture and ideas. I'm pretty sure I'd seen ketamine kid before. Maybe the Don Taco part is new enough and mildly original. Though it doesn't really matter. All that matters is that it pisses those two and their fans off.

[–] showmeyourkizinti@startrek.website 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Take credit for putting the two together. It’s clever and really rolls of the tongue.

Really that's got some strong movie title potential.

taco: YOU TOLD ME THIS BRAIN SHIP HAD NO SIDE EFFECTS WHAT THE FUCK MELON

melon: OH HOLY JESUS FUCK I TOOK TOO MUCH

[–] reptar@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago

That is really unsettling

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

I dunno it’s kinda hard to walk back “Trump is in the Epstein files” and calling for his impeachment.

Reeeeeally hoping this gets far enough that Musk just flat out admits to rigging the election for trump

[–] MrFappy@lemmy.world 42 points 1 day ago (2 children)

He’s he has already vaguely insinuated that fact today since he mentioned that Trump wouldn’t have won without his help. So get from that what you will.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 30 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't know if I'd read it to that extent.

Over $200 million in donations and full control of a massive social media network is nothing to sneeze at. Not to say I don't think he wouldn't have helped rig it, I just think his statement could be taken as an understanding of the money and control of X being massive contributions. Hell, he took the "@america" handle away from a user to use it in support of Trump.

[–] 13igTyme@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago

I think a more damning claim was when Trump said on stage Elon helped with those vote counting machines and knows computers.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

He can vaguely insuinate all he wants.

What I want is for him in a drug fueled stupor to release actual evidence that undeniably shows he stole an election.

They're fucking dumb enough to do it

Exactly what I thought.

It's like watching two chimps knife fight each other. You are pretty much a bad person for watching it ... but you can't just look away.

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I’ve been waiting for this to happen

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 3 points 5 hours ago

Absolutely. From the moment they came together, I began to look forward to the inevitable day that they would finally turn on each other. It was a predictable as the sun rising tomorrow morning.

Frankly, Im surprised it took this long. I was predicting 3 weeks at the outside.

[–] Freshparsnip@lemm.ee 14 points 1 day ago

Trump and Musk are getting divorced

[–] vegeta@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

"The MAGA world is really a bigger and better movement than ever seen before in the history of the Country." Trump gave a superior smile before replying "What can the crazy extreme radical liberals do?"

You're very clever, Tangerine Tyrant, very clever," said the old lady. "But it's leopards all the way down!"

[–] GoobyMcMooby@lemmy.zip 22 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I think this is likely just kayfabe, but it would be oh so funny if vindictive prick Donny works himself into a shoot and rescinds those government contracts. It would be even funnier if he reopened those pesky probes into Elon’s business practices.

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't think either man has thick enough skin to allow insults like this to be made public even if they are in on the joke. They don't see themselves through their own eyes. I'm guessing they only see what they imagine others are seeing.

[–] WatDabney@fedia.io 7 points 1 day ago

This is my take on it too.

I really don't think it's likely that they're just posturing as a distraction - I don't think either one of them is that subtle. But even if they are, I think they're both so thin-skinned that even if they didn't start out serious, they're going to end up that way.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 6 points 1 day ago

Musk losing all his government grants would be pretty funny.

[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Which government contracts? Oh, you mean the ones he got by pulling a Sir Mix-A-Lot on them?

If this wasn’t theater he would have already cut them.

Entirely fabricated reality show drama and the media/citizens are eating it up.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 1 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

I am wondering this too since Elon's close ties to the government basically wrecked Tesla so are they sort of trying to clean his slate. On the other hand both are man children so it is not impossible that they are fighting over their huge ego.

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

trump got really bent out of shape with the TACO nickname. If he doesn't follow through with this it will be a prime opportunity to point out yet more TACO evidence.

I was talking to someone the other day about why Musk is the ideal failbillionaire for this because Trump can have ICE deport him. Expect to see Peter Thiel take his place on the glsss guillotine

[–] iknowitwheniseeit@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Musk is a US citizen though.

[–] MutilationWave@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 hours ago

Hasn't stopped them so far.

But yeah he admits to overstaying his visa once which makes him an illegal immigrant right?
