[–] blarth@thelemmy.club 26 points 3 days ago (3 children)

What the fuuuuuck is wrong with these people?

[–] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 9 points 3 days ago

Trump is the lightning rod for anger, hate and blame. And there are many sources fanning the flames of anger and hate, some legitimate, some on purpose, some for profit.

It's the cult of self-loathing. The US has perfected the sentiment, but it exists everywhere.

[–] don@lemm.ee 3 points 3 days ago

Absolutely everything.

I live in Sweden. The morning after the assassination attempt I was walking to my grocery shop here. On the way in the distance I see someone with a red cap. I'm like, heh, probably one of those joke caps. When I got close enough I see it is a real MAGA cap. In Sweden of all places.

I've only ever seen 3 IRL. 1 in Florida while on vacation (to be expected). The other 2 were in California. 1 guy getting into his car at the beach, the other was an Asian lady walking her dog in my hometown in suburban SF. I let Florida man do his thing, but on my turf? Both were greeted with prompt birds.

About 4 yrs ago I was at a clients house. They had magat hats one each of their home offices. They were no longer my client the next week.

[–] pfr@lemmy.sdf.org 19 points 3 days ago (2 children)

It's that a toilet roll with Trump's face on it? Wtf

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 16 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The real wtf is that those are usually sold to people who hate Trump so they can literally wipe their asses with his face.

[–] ohellidk@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Make shitty assholes great again?

Edit - Well actually, at least the guy wipes his ass considering the following. Gun shows where I live smell like comic-cons - people hate showers...

Spaceballs: The toilet paper

I like to remind them how much the cost of cancer treatment is if Canada were the US.

Or how much they’d have to spend on prescriptions.

Oh and how much more likely they’d be sued and lose their entire life savings as well as their entire family’s life savings over any car accident.

Or how much they’d have to spend if an elderly loved one has to have any form of home care.

Or that (any) politician actually have very little to do with how much house and egg inflations happen.

And that fentanyl actually comes more from the US. Not the other way around.

And that any land they make their living on isn’t actually their’s to trade but is under treaty between First Nations and the crown. So if they do separate they will have to relinquish any federal territory. Which is across all of the areas the Maple MAGATs want.

And my favorite: tell them to research what happened to the locals of the newer states of the US after US took it over. US wants Canada. Not the Canadians. ICE WILL take your friend and dump him in El Salvador. They do not give a flying fart if they love trump.

And trump bankrupted 4 casinos.

Just Some of the things Canadians need to be reminded of while they exist in their little bubble lacking gratitude of being Canadian in Canada complaining about taxes.

I’ve learned MAGATs do no research prior to taking their stance because they do it out cultish belonging and brainwashing on social media. Not at all in their own or family’s best interest.

They really need to be categorized as terrorists. like the zionists or ISIS.

US also has a massive and unsustainable debt level. Bessant pretended the US will never default this week. The alternative is repaying all or most of it. That burden would get spread to the new colonists.

US spends an extra 5% of GDP on healthcare than Canada. Overpaying for drugs and health workers is the difference. Average "income+insurance taxes" have to go up 5% points.

The story that Canada/Alberta would not have to pay for military anymore is BS. It would pay even more. Higher taxes or debt.

Zionist first influence in Canada is already high, but in US, it is only election determining outcome.

Alberta oil industry is hugely harmed by losing access to the world and Canada other than its captured US refineries. Price discount compared to an independent unified Canada.

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

That last one is one that the maple MAGATs doing all of this bullshit to claim the oil benefits should pay special attention to and see what is happening to their counter part’s industries in the US failing under tariffs against the rest of the world.

Canada has a fantastic opportunity right now to become a very big super power economy to fill in where the US is falling because of this Tariff stupidity. Canada would loose out on strategy the moment they become the US.

There was a big meeting of the premieres over the weekend discussing pipeline laying to help Canada become a compatible supplier to the world. Forget about the US for now. They are going into depression. Sad but this was entirely avoidable and Canada needs to call it for what it is and just look after Canada.

This is the way.

Your coworker is insane. Report to HR. They might literally be dangerous.

[–] PennyRoyal@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He’s not that bad, but my mate’s dad is a pretty massive trump fan. He’s an English expat, of Indian descent, living in Spain…

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Immigrant, the word is immigrant. Ex pat is just a term used to keep implying that only “bad” people are immigrants

[–] PennyRoyal@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 days ago

That being my point, I only really use “Ex-pat” to describe someone with that particular mindset, with the negative connotations firmly implied. I guess the negativity wasn’t clear - If they were someone who’s just changed country without the resultant attitude I’d probably just have said “lives in” or “has moved to”, and I try not to use “Immigrant” in a negative fashion. Though from my point of view he’s an emigrant if you want to be accurate.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 10 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I've been thinking about this. And I realize there is nothing in this world that would make me display this amount of trinkets about a person, at work or at home... for any reason.

This isn't just a bunch of dumb crap.
This is a shrine.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 4 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Tell me your stupid without telling me your stupid.

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

This is the party of Piere Poilievre

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

If you see shit like this, cut all ties and keep interactions to the absolute bare minimum. They are terminally stupid.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 8 points 3 days ago

This hurts my head

[–] Wilco@lemm.ee 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Isn't that like ... treason in Canada?

[–] Bebopalouie@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 days ago
[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 days ago

Tell us your postal code starts with a T without saying so.

[–] henfredemars@infosec.pub 4 points 3 days ago

Wow, that’s quite a lot of stupid.

Given what the God of MAGA is spewing about Canada, isn't this treason? This is literally a shrine to "Death to Canada!"

[–] don@lemm.ee 3 points 3 days ago

And the broke mind virus strikes again!

[–] eatsumbum@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Nothing wrong with building a shrine to worship at for your deity.
