Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Democratic Party would never give him the chance after the narrative about age competency; he's a year older than Biden.

On top of that he's a "radical socialist anarchist protesting rebel".

Unfortunately the Dems are convinced they need a candidate close to centre to pull people from the right - I'm hoping the success of Harris proves this strategy is shit.

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 34 points 2 years ago

I’m talking 2016, and again in 2020.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 17 points 2 years ago

If Harris fails, they’ll find someone older, whiter, maler, and even closer to a conservative.

They could lose every election ever and still refuse to glance to the left.

Never let Bernie's legacy die... https://youtu.be/ZlZaVtCT5HI

Don't always align with him policy wise, but man do I like him as a human being. Always focusing on solutions to issues, not attacking others.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 40 points 2 years ago (1 children)

have you seen his old public tv show where he interviewed random people? he speaks to a very young goth looking couple. he's incredibly interested in their opinions and very understanding to their attitude. he's the kind of "old" you want. not bitter and defensive, but engaged, perceptive and understanding.

[–] dmtalon@infosec.pub 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I have not, but you're exactly right!

Would be hilarious for him to interview them both now, with more-or-less the same set of questions :)

[–] return2ozma@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Here's the same two "mall punks" interviewed in 2020 https://youtu.be/fq97NjNww4w

This is incredible... This is the type of stuff the internet is made for! They are absolutely different than I would have guessed, which is a good thing! I think it's amazing "Mike" was volunteering for Bernie

[–] Orbituary@lemmy.world 26 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Which policies don't you align with?

[–] HubertManne@moist.catsweat.com 12 points 2 years ago

and if he does attack others they are usually being way obstructionist and spreading bs about the issue or the solutions.

The US does not deserve Sanders even though we need him.

[–] x00z@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago (1 children)

As a European I've been looking at America in disbelief, not understanding why Sanders wasn't the most obvious choice all along.

[–] another@discuss.online 9 points 2 years ago

He was, but our voting system is flawed, and corporations influence most things. Bernie is bad for “business”

[–] uis@lemm.ee 28 points 2 years ago (2 children)

That's still 20$ more than it should

[–] pineapplelover@lemm.ee 31 points 2 years ago

Small steps my friend. Just take a look at how the republicans do it. First they overturn roe v wade, have the abortion decision decided by the states, and planning in 2025 that no abortion is legal in the country.

[–] BruceTwarzen@lemm.ee 13 points 2 years ago

Calm down, some billionaire can't afford his third yacht because of this shit.
