Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
Paw patrol is Libertarian/ClassicalLib propaganda. An entire public infrastructure system owned by a private citizen with more power than any elected leader? Yup sounds like a Libertarian dream, all you need is McNukes and for the private police to sell drugs.
Holy shit, they got the rights to use Mr. House?
New headcannon unlocked: Ryder from paw patrol is Mr House (Robert House) as a child and ill explain the headcannon
The setting of paw patrol takes place somewhere in a coastal area so its not crazy to say that area is California (specifically northern California). Specifically we know Mr House was born in 2020 which means the show would logically take place in 2030 (since Ryder is canonically 10). This makes sense for the timeline of both Ryder and Mr House. We can tell from the setting of Paw Patrol that government corruption is high and trust is low, almost certainly caused by Trump and incompetent leadership in California.
Ryder starts off with good intentions, reduce government waste and bring efficiency to California. Maybe he even watches a few ReasonTV videos and goes down the Libertarian pipeline. He makes technological inventions that are revolutionary and through them he earns a grip on his local public infrastructure. But as he grows older his heart grows cold. His pups no longer obediently follow hin as they notice the spark from his eyes dissapear. Ryan kills the pups and leaves the town for Collage, wiping all official records on his way out.
When Ryan moves to collage he changes his name to Mr House, he also gets a different haircut. Anything to get people to forget that he was a child warlord of a small north Californian costal town. He moves to southern California and with the experience of building deadly robots he creates Rob-Co. He remembers that his puppies tried to betray him when he got power hungry and how the people revolted against him, he vowed to never again be chased away or backstabbed. He now exclusively makes souless machines that can crush anyone beneath his thumb. Through cleaver maneuvering he makes it to the top, he owns New Vegas and soon all of the Mohave.
His family is dead, his friends are dead by his own hands, anyone whom he has ever known or worked with from his past life is now dead. Ryan too is dead, only Mr House remains. Alone at the top, untouchable, immortal, yet a husk of what he once was all those years ago.
Skip Intro on YT has a whole series about copaganda, and did an episode about Paw Patrol. It's a bit long, but still a good vid, imo.
E: ducking autocorrupt

Travis Willingham?
My daughters watch it. Turns out they have versions. One time the guy shows in tactical spy gear. My daughters didn't get but I laughed audibly at that one.1
