this is such a great movie, it was like a found jewel when i watched it to the first time it came to hbo, it gets a yearly rewatch. tilda swinton's gabriel literally one of the coolest movie character portrayals i'd ever seen in my life. keanu, weiss, leboeff, rosdale, honsou, stormare jfc this move was packed. like i said, this is on my repeat list. such a great flick.

Tilda as gabriel was so incredibly iconic
Sorry to be horny on main, but I'm pretty sure Tilda Swinton's Gabriel jumpstarted puberty for me.

I'm a fan of the comics, so it was a passable occult detective film but that wasn't John Constantine to me.
I really got into the television series as well, but sadly that was cancelled after just one small season, as I'm sure you're aware.
Neat when he came back on Legends though
I'm with you, though I'd say better than passable, especially for the time.
I hope they have a role for Stormare, he killed it in the first one.
Oh FFS Akiva Goldsman and JJ Abrams? Well glad we all enjoyed the first one because the sequel is going to SUCK.

Maybe this will be the first time we get a conclusion. Or, wait, even better! It can lead into Constantine 3!
JJ guarantees a mystery box (or boxes) being introduced and not answered. A third movie might not answer anything, but JJ sure makes the questions.
John Constantine will inexplicably have long hair and a beard this time around.
I liked the movie a lot but it wasn't John Constantine. They took every aspect of the character that made him who he was. Punk rocker, bleached blonde, British, chain smoker.
Great movie but weird changes to the source
This is one of the few sequels I'm genuinely excited for. Constantine was such a good movie.
Was it necessary to wait 20 YEARS??
I love Keanu Reeves, but he was horribly miscast. He was clearly attached because The Matrix = Money
Maybe as an adaptation of the comic book character, but he still nailed the role that the movie called for.
