"ICE can now enter your home without a warrant to look for migrants, DOJ memo says"

good god I knew things would get fucked pretty quickly but I had no idea how quickly

[–] bigkahuna1986@lemmy.ml 71 points 10 months ago (3 children)

My favorite part is how conservatives are totally fine with this.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 45 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Illegals shoud start registering the addresses of the MAGAest of MAGAts in their neighbourhoods. Sit back and watch the fire works.

https://www.ice.gov/webform/ice-tip-form

Not suggesting anything here. Just wanted to share a cool URL I found

[–] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 38 points 10 months ago (1 children)

They'd be pissed, if they knew it was happening. The politicians don't care, it's part of the plan. Conservative media doesn't report it because an uneducated populace is easier to control.

[–] bobs_monkey@lemm.ee 36 points 10 months ago (1 children)

A lot of of them I've talked to are burying their heads in the sand while all of those "blows over." They're convinced everything is fake news anyway.

[–] zarkanian@sh.itjust.works 14 points 10 months ago

Oh, it will blow over. Eventually. The question is how much of our country will be left at that point.

[–] InvertedParallax@lemm.ee 16 points 10 months ago

They're fine with it becausw they assume it will never happen to white people.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Beat me to it.

ICE agents wish they were that intelligent and suave.

Maybe they should design some easily identifiable uniform so people would know who they are on sight. I wonder if Hugo Boss is available.

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 66 points 10 months ago

"You are harbouring enemies of the state, are you not?"

[–] Ste41th@lemmy.ml 65 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Damn near everyone is armed

Isn’t that the idea of the 2nd amendment, to keep the government in check if they start going out of line?

[–] taladar@sh.itjust.works 55 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (2 children)

Seems to be working great so far /s

Yeah, I'm waiting for some of those fuckers to get gunned down when trying to break into someone's house.

[–] jabathekek@sopuli.xyz 18 points 10 months ago (5 children)

I wonder how many MAGAs are having a total mental breakdown rn because of this.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 39 points 10 months ago

Zero. Their own ideology means nothing to them when it gets into the way of punishing brown people.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 26 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The whole essence of MAGA ideology is "rules for thee, not for me" hypocrisy. They literally cannot conceive that they might get targeted with this gestapo shit.

[–] TheSlad@sh.itjust.works 19 points 10 months ago

Time to call in maga houses to the ICE tip line?

[–] ExtremeDullard@lemmy.sdf.org 22 points 10 months ago

You need a brain to have a mental breakdown.

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 19 points 10 months ago

Probably none, because they'll assume they won't be targeted. Quite the contrast with the freakout they had when Obama did a military exercise in the south.

[–] InvertedParallax@lemm.ee 5 points 10 months ago

Some of those who work forces...

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 40 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Most of us aren't armed. The people who have a lot of guns have A LOT of guns.

[–] InvertedParallax@lemm.ee 14 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

The law of conservation of guns and brain cells/chromosomes.

[–] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 24 points 10 months ago (5 children)

That won't survive for a second in most courtrooms.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 49 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Then they'll arrest the judge.

A courtroom would require due process. We don't get that anymore.

[–] ExtremeDullard@lemmy.sdf.org 15 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The Trump regime doesn't care about court decisions anymore. Haven't you heard?

Since when is ICE bringing people to court?

[–] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 7 points 10 months ago

You don't go to court if you're dead

[–] sunbrrnslapper@lemmy.world 16 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Dumb question: How does this work with the 4th Amendment?

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 35 points 10 months ago

Conservatives don't think immigrants have rights, including the right to prove they are citizens. Therefore the 4th amendment doesn't apply to anyone they assume is an immigrant in their eyes.

Conservatives have all three branches so what they believe is what will happen.

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 14 points 10 months ago

Knock knock

[–] DiaDeLosMuertos@aussie.zone 10 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I know this is a big issue and bloody important. On a lighter note though, WTF happened to her face ?!

[–] EffortlessEffluvium@lemm.ee 8 points 10 months ago

I don't feel safe around firearms for reasons. A hunting bow for self defense seems ineffective.

Are there otherways to defend my home?

[–] HasturInYellow@lemmy.world 17 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] Kecessa@sh.itjust.works 12 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The sword or the explosive? Or the explosive mounted at the end of a sword? Or a sword in front of the explosive?

[–] noodlejetski@lemm.ee 14 points 10 months ago (1 children)

yes to all of those, I'll take a dozen thanks

[–] reev@sh.itjust.works 5 points 10 months ago

A dozen tanks coming right up!

[–] ChillPenguin@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago

I get it. Frankly I didn't want to get firearms. But the way things are going, I went to classes and practiced gun safety to the best of my ability. I just decided that it's better to have one and not need it. Than to not have one and need it. Especially if I trust myself with being responsible.

Baseball bat?

[–] Khanzarate@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Crossbow would be better than a bow I feel. You can load your shot preemptively, like a gun, but it isn't a gun.

[–] CuddlyCassowary@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] TexMexBazooka@lemm.ee 5 points 10 months ago

Not that are as effective as a 12 gauge, no.
