Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Trump says he's 'bringing religion back'

https://www.newsweek.com/was-donald-trump-americas-first-atheist-president-opinion-1685586

Trump biographer and author of The Big Cheat, David Cay Johnston told me, "In his book Think Big, Trump goes on for six pages denouncing Christians as 'fools,' 'idiots,' and 'schmucks.'"

Sounds like that'll be an interesting process.

You'll be hard pressed to find a more cynical pack of non-believers than a Ministers' Convention.

The most ardent religious adherents insist that atheists have no morals. They have no idea what they're talking about. The truth is that they listen intently to an atheist with no morals every time to go to church.

When you put it that way, why wouldn’t he exploit them?

There is absolutely nothing in the Bible about Easter egg rolls being a part of the Christian faith.

If this doofus didn't constantly lie we'd never hear him speak a word.

Who said anything about Christianity? Eggs and rabbits are symbols of fertility, and [insert your favourite fertility goddess] will be worshipped.

Religion is when you have corporate sponsored egg activities and military parades. Religion is when you send the poor to concentration camps and covet your neighbors' land.

I'm not even religious, but I 100% believe Jesus would go in and flip the resolute desk if he saw trump in there.

I remember a couple of years ago, there were bad storms and flooding or something like that in parts of the USA. And one (1) church made the news for being the only church that provided shelter for the homeless while this was going on. Plenty others made the news for turning the homeless away.

So if they're not going to be loving their neighbours and caring for the poor, what value is this religion actually bringing to the world, other than teaching children that anyone who doesn't conform to their culture deserves to burn and suffer for eternity?

Nothing says sacred like corporate sponsored activities

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago (1 children)

There are more churches than Starbucks in my city. Where the fuck do people think it "went"?

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

The only people persecuting christians are other christians. who believe that their particular flavor is the only "real" flavor, and that everyone else is not really christian.

[–] WhatSay@slrpnk.net 9 points 10 months ago

Isn't that what the antichrist is supposed to say?

[–] TheDeadlySquid@lemm.ee 7 points 10 months ago

Unfortunately it never went away. I thought this country was founded on freedom of religion, which includes freedom from religion.

[–] sunbrrnslapper@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Is he campaigning to be Pope?

[–] RotatingParts@lemmy.ml 6 points 10 months ago

All religions are powerless without believers. Just need to stop believing (and stop giving money.)

[–] Jerb322@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Just like Jebus...

[–] Daggity@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Waiting for the establishment of the maganglican church.

This is what dead space 4 was supposed to follow

[–] BubbaGumpsBackLumps@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

This cunt is going to suggest he should be the next pope isn't he

Edit: called it

[–] Wazowski@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I’d be cool with it. Get him the fuck outta here. Plus, he’s already an experienced rapist.
