Summary

The White House denied plans for a military parade on Donald Trump’s June 14 birthday, despite Washington and Arlington officials confirming early discussions.

Local leaders said administration and Secret Service contacts suggest a parade route from the Pentagon to the White House.

Mayor Bowser raised concerns about costs and road damage, citing a $21.6 million estimate from a previously canceled 2018 parade. Critics, including Sen. Tammy Duckworth, oppose the idea.

Officials urge caution, citing federal job cuts under the DOGE Initiative and the impact on military families.

I like how people I work with argue that this will be good for the economy because it will scare other countries to agree to the tariffs and it will stop woke, somehow…

So a military parade is going to be ordered for Trump's birthday. Got it.

Other officials commented it was the dumbest idea they'd ever heard.

There was suggestions of also using some cybertrucks in the parade to honor Elon Musk, but that was nixed for fear of them breaking down, losing parts, or catching fire along the route.

Make sure you don't waste the good surprise on Sonny

Maybe this is an outlier view, but I hope it happens. Not only does it add more context to his growing international reputation as a dictator, it will piss off the military (who aren't likely to appreciate being forced to do this sort of thing), and most of all, it will be an EPIC protest opportunity. I'd love to see veterans and other groups peacefully block the parade along the route multiple times. It will make a huge statement, and greatly antagonize HitlerPig by interrupting the flow of the parade.

It also robs the parade of much of its propaganda power, and allows the Resistance to use it as a stage to show the world how much America opposes this Treasonous Tyrant.

It will also tear up the roads, which will have to be repaired, adding unnecessary road construction to the already insane DC rush hour traffic. For weeks or months, people will be reminded of HitlerPig's stupid military parade on a daily basis.

The fun part is, this is easily provable/disprovable :) Let's see what happens when the day comes

"We heard people talking about it, almost demanding it, so we had to!"

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I bet a parade route like that is a nightmare for secret service…………………….

There's still a chance that public uproar could derail it before they have a chance to spend the money and set the narrative as this being some other BS anniversary (that coincidentally happens to be on Trump's birthday).

As soon as nobody can do anything about it, they'll stop denying it.
