Rogue wondering moon
I think this was the first SF series I watched as a kid - I remember trying to build the space ship and moon base with lego's (not very succesful).
Or the old steampunk game Space: 1889 clearly naming itself as a tongue-in-cheek reference to it!
That cover art is gorgeous.
It's lifted straight up from the source material. As far as seventies series go, S: 1999 took itself quite seriously, in a good way. It's still sort of zany and the science isn't there in the plot, but the models and the casting more than make up for it.
This was available for pre-order through Anderson Entertainment. Those of us who did so already have the full preview PDF and we'll be getting the book first.
