Management misjudged?

No! It is the market that is wrong!/The employees failed to execute the project.

I am so annoyed that Arkane Austin was forced to make Redfall, which caused many devs to leave because that is not the type of game that Arkane should be doing. Then the game underperformed because the majority of gamers don't want a live-service game, particularly from a studio that is known for immersive sims, and those that do are already playing other live service games which by their nature don't coexist well with multiple games at the same time. So Microsoft shuttered the studio. They were doing goddamn fine until management made them do something a) out of their wheelhouse, b) that they had no passion for, and c) that customers didn't want. Jfc.

those ceos and rich ppl who as kids get away with saying "the dog ate my homework"

they're probably so used to that, the "underperformance" was probably part of the original plan. cuz they're so accustomed to the shareholder hype cycle, they just plan cyclical hiring and layoffs in the same meeting.

they're economic cannibals

hang 'em by their toes!
