Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

My son had this incredibly bright flashlight, and one evening he shined it out into the yard and claimed that all the little sparkles we were seeing in the grass were spiders looking back at us. I disagreed and told him they were reflections from dew drops. To prove his point, we agreed on a particularly bright sparkle, and approached it keeping the light on it. Sure enough, there was a spider sitting there looking back up at us. We then proceeded to find about a dozen more. I was totally surprised that every one we honed in on turned out to be another spider.

Sounds like wolf spiders. They are actually good mammas and they haul their 'lings on their backs until they are old enough to disperse.

Clever use of the aperture reflection

These are jumping spiders. Jumping spiders have always been cute! Some of my favourites:

Phidippus audax

Salticus scenicus

Maratus volans

I love jumping spiders, they always look like they're processing how friendly I am before they finally crawl onto my hand

This one isn't a spider, but I found it looking for more jumping spider pictures:

Yeah! When I was a kid I played this game called Exile 3: Ruined World and it had a place called the cave of friendly spiders. You talked to them and they’d say things like “Hi! You’re cute!” It always stuck out to me how friendly they were.

Now I realize that jumping spiders literally are those friendly spiders from the game!

Cute salamander by the way! Where I live they’re extremely rare. Only seen a couple of them in my life.

And yet studio execs tell me that my live action, spider based remake of the Minions movie "won't find an audience." And "hunting insects is not the same as wacky hijinx."

Bullshit. That’s Cookie Monster in disguise!

I never thought I’d laugh out loud at the sight of a spider, until today.

Spider eyes, they're watching you.
They see your every move

Couple this with the compilation of spider paws and I just want to cuddle them.

This startles the spider.

Are these pictures heavily edited in Photoshop or similar tools?

These look like Zoidberg's arachnid cousins.
