I googled but all I found were people trying to do it the other way 'round (lemmy posts on their mastodon feed)

you can follow mastodon peeps from mbin and still interact with lemmy

Yep. If the goal is to be able to interact with both mastodon and lemmy, mbin is the answer.

I think on Lemmy, you can't follow people. You can just follow topics (communities, maybe hashtags).
