Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. In 2024, California boasted 178,500 total EV ports compared to around 120,000 estimated gas nozzles, according to the California Energy Commission.
More than 700,000 Level 2 chargers are installed across the state in single-family homes, according to state estimates.
Those are pretty nice numbers. I was going to post that, given the time difference for refueling, you would need a lot more chargers than gas pumps for an equivalent number of vehicles, but they're already there.
There’s some free ones too. My wife and I use them when we drive up to the Bay Area. Caltrans is awesome. It costs us about $200 to drive my truck up, and about $25 to drive her electric car up.
