Sorry for your work lost! I swear I have to let myself go through a mourning period before I can start frogging. I switch to another project for a while once I decide I want to frog this one. I’ve noticed that it helps me reflect on my progress as a knitter and how I am improving the final work by restarting.

Absolutely that's helpful. I'm working on another project, but apparently my friend's mother would absolutely wear this shawl if I made it so I suppose it's remaining in limbo until I feel like picking it up again!
Though I will keep in mind that this method helped me gain the courage to frog it all in case I need to do it again for another project. I just happened to get the call to keep it right before I went for it!
I'm so proud of what I created and know I'll never see it finished. So I figured I'd share it here! I'm particularly proud of how even my stitches are, especially at the end of the project!
Genuinely, clever solution. As someone who wants to wear shawls more often thanks for posting the pattern!
In my very amateur opinion you have nice tensioning, at least better than mine haha.
I tend to go on long hiatuses from my fiber arts hobbies and I'm back on a crocheting and knitting kick
Nice to know I am not the only one who does that.
It's a genuinely incredibly well written pattern, I'd never knit anything really substantial or interesting before this and I was able to do so relatively pai lessly. It's also great because it strikes that balance between repetitive enough that it's not too taxing but changing it up enough I don't get bored over the thousands of stitches.
Thanks for your kind words 😊
I frogged the majority of a piece recently, and I felt better when I reminded myself that I like knitting. I don’t care a ton about knitted things. So I got to have all of that fun and learning, and now I get to do it again without even buying more yarn. (Mine was also on my only long circular, so now I can magic loop again. Double win.)
Also, it’s a beautiful piece, so go you. I actually dig the colors.
Haha thanks for the kind words! My friend's mom actually likes it so I guess I'll pick it back up and finish it. This post just pushed me to double check if anyone I knew would appreciate it.
Oh! I was wondering what was wrong with it but I totally understand your reasons. I too am just coming off a knitting hiatus. Working on a baby blanket now!
Best of luck with that! I found a reason to keep it (another potential gift recipient) so you might see a post eventually of the finished piece!
Jk my friend's mom actually would love it so I guess I'll pick it back up and finish it. I'll post the results whenever that happens, I have another couple WIPs to finish first
My first big frog was a sweater that came out way too small. It turns out that the “worsted” yarn was closer to sport weight. Did I swatch? I don’t remember. I sure do now. Anyway, it took me about five years of it lying around before I thought about repurposing the yarn for another project. The first one was the hardest but now, I come to terms with it a little quicker. I still need to set it aside for some time while I grieve, I guess. I will say though, it’s kind of satisfying to wind it all back up and get some “new” yarn out if it!
