Pretty sure that this will end up being integral to like...2 games, probably first party ones. Did you know that you can plug a mouse into a PS4/5 and it'll work fine? Most players don't care about that, either.

Didn't know about that until my kid used keyboard + mouse with PS5 to play Fortnite. It felt so unreal.

You must not have known this was possible on the PlayStation 2 then either.

Few games had full support, but it worked great back then

lol, now that's a controller!

Seeing that controller again also made me think of my old yahoo dvd player that had divx support. So many burned CDs were played on it

Wow, didn't know Yahoo! had any devices. Only know it as a web directory, portal, and email provider. You have some nice stuff!

Not Epic's first rodeo with KB+M fps controls on a console either :p

Yeah, I used a mouse for a bit on FF14. They're plug and play, although they may not support extended buttons and such since there's no installing additional drivers. Keyboards are also supported for any time you need to enter text! Pretty essential for MMOs.

For controlling the system menu and usually text chat. I only know a single game that fully supports them for playing the game with, though.

I've actually wondered about this. Given how many games a) have existing PC ports and b) are built using things like Unity that handle the input layer I wouldn't be shocked if there's a lot more games that just work with m+kb than you'd think.

I thought so too but I just played Katamari on my phone and was struck by lightning when I imagined it controlling like Drag x Drive. I think that’s enough reason alone for me.

but the developers of the Switch 2 understand that most people don’t play console games with a handy table nearby and ready to go

at the very least, you gotta wear pants.

So close to understanding how your players play!

I'm lucky if I'm wearing anything at all!
