Like I said, 7+ day dry fasts have been done.
I live in a cold country and am very sedentary. The 60 hours I just did without water was actually great and not in a delirious way. You don’t understand the abuse I’ve put my body through by drinking and eating way way too much, not listening to my body properly.
I know what I’m doing. For the regular person, I’m sure it would be bad for but I’m not the regular person.
Actually yes, some life forms do need to not eat and I’m one of them. Like I said,,, I eat waaay too much in general AND this has been done by many others before for therapeutic purposes etc and they’ve been fine. And what I meant by support me was support me in doing this. And by understand I meant truly understand my reasoning for doing so and see the genuine goodness that will come from it.
To be completely honest, I already feel like I’m dead. Decaying. If I die, it will be the rotten no good parts of me that die. I’m prepared for that to happen. My life sucks as it is. One week In the grand scheme of things is nothing.
If you know what you're doing, why are you here asking for help?
It sounds like you really need to talk to a mental health professional, because doing what you're doing, and the reasons you're doing it, are not healthy regardless of how it makes you feel while doing it. Meth makes you feel really good too, but it's certainly not good for you.
I’m not asking for help…
I initially wanted support earlier since I was feeling down. I got it.
I wasn’t asking for help on this.
Ok whatever. I don’t expect everyone to agree or understand.
I think it's important that you understand that what you're doing is self harm. It's an eating disorder and you need help.
The fact that people have done extreme fasting before doesn't mean it's a good or healthy thing to do. The fact that you feel like a failure for eating food is extremely troubling.
You're going to do more harm to your family if you kill yourself doing it rather than just eating less food.
I’m overweight. If I was underweight, then sure, what I’m doing is wrong and unhealthy and dangerous. But I’m not…
Its not that I feel like a failure for eating food either…
And besides. I’d never be able to kill myself through not eating because, if it wasn’t clear enough, I HAVE BINGE EATING DISORDER. And if you don’t know what that is, look up obese people. So in other words, don’t you worry, I get my calories IN, I’m sure more than you.
Sory but I’m sick of all the ‘get help’ comments.
No, it's still unhealthy if you're overweight, especially if you're also severely restricting water intake. Extreme fasting can damage your heart, cause insulin resistance, cause muscle loss, and in extreme cases, refeeding syndrome.
You're just trading eating disorders at this point. You'll have better long term results if you actually address the reasons you got obese by working with a mental health professional and focusing on healthy eating habits and an exercise regimen.
I'm saying this as a formerly obese person too.
To be Frank, I can’t see that happening so anyone suggesting me to see a professional it’s just not going to happen.
And, I have A LOT of water weight that keeps me going believe it or not.
I’ve done a lot to my body over my life. I know this is what I need.
we hold water weight based on salt intake from what I understand, it is less related to how much we remember to stay baseline hydrated (saying this as a chronically mildly dehydrated adhd/asp spectrum person who also sometimes naturally fasts on accident for long periods sometime up to around 11+ hours if I have eaten well/[much for my smaller stomach] the day before) I like sipping as small of sips as I can throughout the day sometimes to remind myself, and when hiking at the very least as well, and it can help in maintaining the good practice of saving some last few swigs of the water bottle for emergency situations like someone unexpectedly choking on dust, or experiencing unexpected eye irritants from gusty winds.
If you've done a lot of damage to your body over your life, why are you intentionally doing more?
Being obese is already really bad for your heart and pancreas, and you want to do something that can make it even worse? Plus all of the damage rapid weight loss can cause.
If you really have concern for the well-being of your family you need to stop and get help before you passively kill yourself.
You’re clearly not going to understand me on this. I’m done.
