I'm bald, like George Costanza in season 9 bald. The cheap wigs I've tried look like, well, cheap fake hair. They were also incredibly hot and itchy. At this point I think going around completely shaved or with a bandana as a head wrap looks best, but I still really wish I could present with hair.

I'd like to try a good wig but they're so pricey, and I'm worried that even if it looked good that it would be intolerably uncomfortable to wear all day.

Would anyone recommend trying out quality wigs, or is it just not worth the cost and discomfort?

Wigs are unnecessary. Behold!

Edit: if you want, I'd give you mine to make a wig from (after it grows out). It's 3B curly dark ash blonde hair, pretty thick.

I think it depends on your face and the shape of your skull - some people look beautiful bald, but not everyone. I suspect trans women in particular are going to look more like men if they are bald or keep their hair short.

I tell you what, once I've been on the E for a year ill shave my head and report back.

I did that, had fun for few days, dyed my hair pink so I still got mostly she her pronouns used until I spoke (I did not voice train 🤐), but then dysphoria kicked in and I'm still growing it out again 😓

You're not wrong! I currently rock a shaved head and sometimes I'm shocked how femme I can look without a head covering. But I'm not exactly young, and I think my scalp needs some kind of covering most of the time.

You are so sweet to offer 😁.
