This guy was arrested inside his own safe with a gun. He is a lunatic. He is also obviously trying to cash out somehow, even though since 2015 he himself claims to have no ties with Mega anymore and that it has been compromised.

Either way, Mega hasn't been good for piracy for ages, nor is it trust worthy for private data sharing.

In the linked post he writes

Full Disclosure: I'm no longer involved with Mega but it operates lawfully like Megaupload did. The fact that Mega is still online after I founded it 13 years ago shows that the case against Megaupload was political, a total Hollywood overreach and the New Zealand Govt should be ashamed for still wanting to extradite me.
