People in Beehaw are nice (thank you all for that), but I am put off of the idea of reddit-like sites because of how toxic Reddit became (and also because of it lumping all USians as you-know-what), and when I select "All" for all lemmy instances in post view, it brings back bad memories of reddit.

I am very sorry if i anger anybody in Beehaw. this is also the reason why I am not active in beehaw.

Take care of yourself, do what you need to do and don't feel bad about leaving or taking a break.

If you want to try something different, subscribe to communities that aren't politics focused. Block users like me, if I come into a non-political thread and make it about politics.

It sounds like you care about other people which is great trait, but don't let it overwhelm you. Engage with social media at your own pace.
