Fuck moderation. Moderation is a big part of how we got here.

They boxed people into sanitized communities. Look at the biggest groups here or on reddit. It's usually only headlines. Very little discussion. No interpretation. Mods removed anyone they felt were 'trolls' it left only homogeneous spaces. No insight. Just people all agreeing with each other saying like 10 phrases over and over again.

Moderators, especially in left-leaning spaces, have turned disagreement into a bannable offense. If you do not perfectly align, you are out. Moderators enforce purity.

I posted a clip recently of an agitator burning a flag at a protest and then running away. It had hundreds of upvotes. A mod deleted it and said it was because they did not like it. That is not moderation. That is controlling what people are allowed to see.

People keep pretending the real fight is in the streets. It is not. If powerful institutions did not believe online spaces mattered, they would not spend billions shaping them. They understand the battleground. For some reason the leftist haven't figured it out.

We need to go back to basics. Moderation should be minimal. Mods should handle illegal or truly extreme content and nothing else. Everything else should be decided by the community. That is why upvotes and downvotes exist. Why was that forgotten
