So the democrats. Over half of Americans vote Democrat but the republicans win because of gerrymandering
Gerrymandering has no affect on the presidential election.
The electoral college definitely feels like a form of gerrymandering.
Exactly, the whole winner take all deal means not a single presidential vote I have made ever meant anything. The majority of electoral votes in my state were for the other party. So my preferred parties electoral votes won magically become the other parties. If they forced states to split electoral votes places like Texas and California would have a much different impact on elections.
I believe that some states do allocate their electoral college votes by percentage.
It might feel that way, but gerrymandering is specifically for the House of Representative districts. It has no bearing on the outcome of presidential elections.
Splitting the Dakota territory could be seen as a form of gerrymandering.
I guess, but that happened over 130 years ago.
That's not what gerrymandering is, no. Words have meaning.
Not to defend the electoral college, it should be abolished.
The electoral college was put in place to prevent people like Trump from being elected, so it’s not even functioning as intended.
It certainly determines how congress sorts war powers. It also determines how they keep legitimate judges out of SCOTUS until the GOP can seat their psychopaths. Gerrymandering has fucked everything. Can't impeach and then convict. Can't do shit about fuck. Here we are.
Electing Trump has fucked everything. Dumbass likely Democratic voters who sit out elections ruin everything. People in this country just don't fucking care.
Honestly dems are part of the problem. We need another party and ban AIPAC.
Ok, but it still has no impact on presidential elections.
Why is it so important to the Republicans and why's is it such a big deal that California will retaliate on Texas for gerrymandering. The electoral college needs to go. Land shouldn't vote, people should. Most of the rich owns the land anyways.

Because it determines the house of Representatives districts. It has nothing to do with presidential elections.
Yeah, and I was responding about presidential elections only. Because the post is about Trump.
Do you understand why I made my comment in the context of the post?
Really annoying to be "corrected" by people ignoring how context works.
I have no idea why you're being downvoted. Gerrymandering is specifically for the House of Representatives and has no bearing on presidential election outcomes.
People think I'm saying gerrymandering is ok, I'm not. I responded in the context of the thread, which is about Trump exclusively.
I'm being downvoted by people who don't stop to think before doing so.
