Of course, everyone does. It's the result of Trump's nonsensical economic policies.

Surely the Blue States with Dem governors and legislatures are suffering less, though, right?

[–] MiddleAgesModem@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Why would they? Trump's economic policies affect prices all over the country. If people in a blue state are hurt by the tariffs, it's still Trump's fault.

Why would they?

California's the 7th largest economy in the world. You can't tell me that their domestic policies have no impact on their cost of living.

If people in a blue state are hurt by the tariffs, it’s still Trump’s fault.

Tariffs aren't the only public policy on the table. Plenty of our inflation has come from chronically poor real estate policies, droughts brought in by climate change, energy shortages from data center consumption, and a contraction in the labor market caused by Boomer retirements.

States, blue and red, have experienced inflation going back to COVID and before it.

Liberals only seem to notice when it's conservatives complaining under a Republican president. And their panacea - just vote Dem to fix it - never seems to deliver the promised relief.

California’s the 7th largest economy in the world.

You can't possibly think that means they can supply everything they currently have themselves. That makes no sense.

You're blaming very recent economic trends that are the result of Trump's idiotic tariff policy on policies that have been in place for decades? Economic trends affected everywhere, not just blue states.

Can you explain why Democrat policies are the cause of the recent trend in RED STATES?

And what, JUST NOW, those policies stared having this effect and the tariffs are irrelevant?

No, Americans everywhere are suffering because Trump is an incompetent clown.

All the other things you've mentioned existed before the rising price hikes and Trump's stupid policy. Amazingly, they didn't cause these price rises UNTIL Trump's policies came into effect. What a coincidence.

Inflation always happens, yes, but this is not run of the mill inflation. This is the price of commodities rising directly due to the tariff policy. Covid caused huge inflation because the world shut down and needed time to start back up. It dropped precipitously under Biden. Things have only gotten worse since Trump took over.

You're desperately to downplay the effects of Trump's policies and it's absolutely ridiculous. Can you not take responsibility for anything?

So us not having a "panacea" discredits us entirely? Where's your panacea? The economy has been stronger under Democrats recently. Trump raises the debt more, he gives breaks to billionaires and we're LOSING jobs under him (Biden had twice the job growth than Trump in his first term). Cost of living is undeniably rising and maybe you're worried you won't be able to just blame it on Democrats like you do to mask all of your other failures.

Democrats aren't perfect but Republicans are deluded maniacs that openly support a convicted felon child rapists as the president.
