Seeing as the community rules also permit asking for community recs... I have a dumbphone that I've owned for a while and I'm impressed by all the edge cases its software actually handles. I'd like to describe my findings somewhere, but I couldn't find a fitting community. There's no dumbphone or digital minimalism community, no?

There's Compact Phones but they're more about small smartphones. I don't think they'd appreciate my post about a small phone that's also trash when compared to a smartphone

This might be of interest to some of the privacy communities. If you think there's overlap, feel free to post in one of the larger ones.

"Dumbphones" are not inherently superior from a privacy perspective if they connect to cell towers. Standard calls and SMS are wide open to eavesdropping.

No, they're not, and I didn't say they were. But there are a lot of people that only let a tower touch a dumbphone and keep a wifi only smartphone that is more secure, so the venn diagram does have some overlap.
