People who say: "i wanna shop in person, i like choosing produce in person" really mean they ignorant and are afraid to try new and things.

Lol wot?

What new things are you afraid to try if you want to avoid a random person picking unripe/overripe/damaged produce? Most of the time it's fine, but when you want salad tomatoes and get salsa tomatoes instead, you learn not to rely on them.
