Eh, I wouldn't go that far. At least in my climate you'll want to grow in a tent if you want enough to share with buddies. But it's way more fun to grow than to find a reliable dude with good quality herb. Even my first, shitty harvest was way better than what I bought before. Except for that one time in Amsterdam, when I flew though outer space and back. Oh my god, I still think of that weed.
Of course this depends on your electricity cost and how well your grow is going, but it's very feasible to get below 1€/g even with artificial lighting. Depending on what you would pay otherwise, you can recoup the initial investment for equipment with the first grow.
Yes electricity was a big hit in the money sack, but the initial cost was pretty high as well. But I'm growing for fun, friends and pleasure. It's a hobby 💖
