I know that she's just lying and being a piece of shit as usual.

That being said, could you not lie better? Saying that every order the president gives is lawful is such a 5 year old's understanding of how the government works. It's such a naive thing to say.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 70 points 2 months ago (2 children)

These people have the mental acuity of 5 year olds so no. And no offense meant to 5 year olds.

[–] shyguyblue@lemmy.world 38 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You're not far off. The majority of my sperm donors siblings didn't finish high school, and are so deep in the MAGA trash, it's embarrassing to call them relatives...

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 7 points 2 months ago

Don't let sperm donors in.

[–] rayyy@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

“Quiet piggy”, is a typical type of comment from a petulant 5 year old.

Also 100% not a Christian, but those evangelists don't seem to be able to see the obvious.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 months ago

They just don’t care, they just think he’ll do shit to help them. Just like how they don’t care that there needs ago be an Armageddon (nuclear or otherwise) in the Middle East for the second coming or rapture or whatever the fuck they believe to happen.

[–] Jumbie@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago

Brother, you’re going to have to conclude that this is a Christian. In fact, he is THE Christian.

They keep showing us that this is Christian behavior and we keep pretending there is some majority of Christians out there that negates the behavior. It’s a myth, the “good” Christian.

“Not a Christian” is simply the “no true Scotsman” fallacy of our times.

Bagdad Barbie didn't get her job by being smart, that's for sure.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 12 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

It ain't her looks either.
She's like the third lady down the line at a bar.

(I know it is her looks. These people just have horrible taste)

[–] Sc00ter@lemmy.zip 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Its her loyalty.

After pence didnt carry thru jan 6 the way trump wanted, his number 1 criteria for his cronies is loyalty.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Is that she’s a spoiled brat who’s dad paid for a congressional run in a tiny state, which she lost, but has blond hair so the Trump weirdos had to have her.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

she is in the early stages of mar-a-lago face.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 months ago

I’m sure she’ll get there soon enough, but she’s only in her early twenties I think. The hate seems to prematurely age these assholes. Same with Miller and Cruz and the rest of these ghouls.

[–] benignintervention@lemmy.world 24 points 2 months ago (2 children)

It's even more sinister than that. She is parroting Nazi propaganda written by Carl Schmitt which claims that the ultimate authority for moral and legal decision resides with the 'sovereign leader' and therefore anything that the leader decides is good and legal.

I looked for a first or second degree source to get the exact wording, but they're all paywalled behind academic journals. Behind the Bastards did a set on him

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Nixon / Frost. Close enough.

[–] shyguyblue@lemmy.world 18 points 2 months ago

Everything Obama said was legal because... Gestures to the photo

[–] frezik@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Lying badly is the point. They looked at 1984 as a guidebook.

Except that I think they overextended themselves. They jumped there too fast and nobody is buying it.

[–] JandroDelSol@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

unfortunately, so many people actually are buying this shit

[–] MisterOwl@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I know that she’s just lying and being a piece of shit as usual.

She's not though. The supreme court says the president is above the law, remember? It is impossible for him to issue an illegal order, because the law does not apply to him. Jeez, get on board with the monarchy already.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 21 points 2 months ago (1 children)

SCOTUS ruled he cannot be held accountable when he does something illegal, not that the actions themselves are legal.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

Which just goes to show what a stunning piece of shit decision it was.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 months ago

It's what fascists believe, and what fascists can do is only limited by what they're allowed to get away with. So far, that's been pretty much everything.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Nixon said it first. He was also wrong.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 months ago

They're speaking to brain dead MAGA Americans, not anyone who actually lives in reality.

[–] CentipedeFarrier@piefed.social 4 points 2 months ago

It’s not naive, it’s a lie meant to change the conversation and distort the opinions of people who don’t know better.

If the person representing the government says it, it must be true, right?

They aren’t saying that for people who know better. They don’t care about people who know better. They are saying it for people who don’t. Those are their supporters. Those are the people who can be made into supporters.

[–] Davel23@fedia.io 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Saying that every order the president gives is lawful is such a 5 year old's understanding of how the government works.

I mean, the Supreme Court ruled that is exactly how the government works.

[–] forrgott@lemmy.zip 23 points 2 months ago (1 children)

No, they did not. The ruling was the president cannot be sued for official acts. Any soldier who obeys an illegal order can still be held accountable. Well...in theory.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 2 points 2 months ago

Warcrimes is what pardons are for. 😒

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 2 months ago

shes wearing her cross, so yes she was lying.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

That's about the intellectual level they operate on.

[–] TheJesusaurus@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 months ago

If they keep saying it enough and nobody stops them, then it's true
