How would they know he has a mustache and an ear piercing and that he had male pattern baldness? I can understand the shape of the face and such…
They got his face shape and then added styles that were documented to be popular at the time.
A bigger photo would surely show the onion on his belt
I wonder... did he ride an obnoxiously loud horse? Was his gambeson adorned with the stylized emblems of various troubadours and/or bandit gangs? Did he run a shady laudanum business from the back office of the local inn?
