@QuantumTickle@lemmy.zip @pelespirit@sh.itjust.works that is not true, the Prop. 50 California redistricting is happening regardless of what happens to Texas. It was amended to take out its dependence on Texas' actions while being discussed in Legislature, before Newsom signed it. Only if a court bars California's effort via judgement or injunction will it be stopped now.
Other red states have alreaddy gerrymanded several seats, so it should kick in anyway. It has a built in reset in 2028, so it already has enough contingency in it to undue its ugly neccesity.
