I loathe clickbait titles. The statement:

For the avoidance of doubt, the reference to ‘Bubba’ in this correspondence is not, in any way, a reference to former President Bill Clinton,” Mark Epstein said in an apparent statement, shared by Shamsian on social media late Saturday.

Any attempt to conflate that reference with President Clinton, or to read sweeping implications onto them, misrepresents both the purpose and the tone of the original correspondence. I want to be absolutely clear on this point so that the public record is not distorted and so that speculation does not unfairly implicate people who are not actually being referenced in those communications.

Emphasis mine

Until he provides clear representation of both the purpose and tone of the original correspondence and who or what Bubba reallu is, I don't see a reason to not believe that it is Clinton.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 33 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Maxwell owned a horse named Bubba

[–] mister_flibble@sh.itjust.works 11 points 10 months ago

It's called interspecies erotica, fucko

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 1 points 10 months ago (3 children)

So of all the Bubbas in the world, you need specific evidence that it isn't one particular Bubba?

Why does anyone think that either Trump or Bill Clinton would want that blowjob to happen?

[–] Burninator05@lemmy.world 15 points 10 months ago

I don't really think that it refers to Clinton but I don't like being told "it's not this but I'm not going to tell you what it is".

[–] Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Depends what they got for doing it. Sounds to me like an initiation ritual/insurance policy for joining a secret club... what secret club might they have both been a part of where they would think that was a worthwhile entrance fee?

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 0 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You might as well tell me jet fuel can't melt steel beams at this point. The shark has been jumped.

[–] Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (2 children)

Well for me, the fact that an hour before it leaked, trump had 3 outbursts, one to the repulicans that are trying to get it released, one to the democrats about the same thing but more desperate and deranged sounding than normal, and one directly about how they are gonna look into bill clintons ties to epstein.... all an hour before we found out what he was mad about.... like we didn't even have to guess it was bill, trump basically told us by having no self control.

So, I guess he got a heads up about what was gonna leak.

[–] 5too@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

This also explains to me why he's so freaked out about the Epstein files in the first place. I don't think he really understands how strongly a lot of his bade feels about the pedophilia.

Letting slip that he gave a blowjob, though? I can see him panicking endlessly about that getting out.

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io -1 points 10 months ago (2 children)

That's super weak reasoning, though. Clinton has been associated with Epstein in the past. If Trump wants to deflect from scrutiny about his dealings with Epstein, he's going to try to point people at Clinton. He's done it before! If he wants to deflect about something Epstein had on him involving what he was doing with Clinton, he's not going to point everyone to Clinton.

I think if you believe Trump blew Clinton you probably think Vance fucks couches.

[–] Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

I definitely wouldn't say it's a certainty, but it's a pretty strong coincidence to have all three of those sudden outbursts back to back out of the blue if they are completely unrelated. And even if that didn't happen the odds were already high enough before making that connection.

That behaviour is very much in-line with those types of clubs. Whether the illegal thing be drugs, or sex stuff, or just the actual real life secret political clubs that were only about corruption and collusion, which sound super tame now, but are already bad enough. And those clubs do very often end up coming out that they were still infiltrated with spies, or started by spies in some cases. Like, these aren't uncommon or brand new, they have been around for thousands of years.

It's actually very believable.

I don't actually know. I would not deny fucking couches if accused. It gives credence to a baseless assertion.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I mean, its process of elimination.

[–] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 33 points 10 months ago (3 children)

Clearly this fucker knows more than he is telling. We should waterboard some answers out of the scummy bastard for trying to keep dick sucking Donnie's secrets . If he knows who it ain't then he knows who it is.

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 17 points 10 months ago

Why isn't he under investigation? Why isn't Michael Wolf being investigated for criminal conspiracy? He was literally directing Epstein on how best to blackmail Trump. Is that not a crime?

[–] AngularViscosity@piefed.social 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Weird, I'm suddenly all in favor for waterboarding. 🤔

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 15 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

Eh, torture in any form doesn't work. Unless your goal is the torture itself.

Everyone talks under torture, but no one tells the truth, they simply say whatever the torturer wants to hear, because that's the fastest way to end the torture.

Now, I am in favor of anyone advocating for torture going through it themselves. You'd eventually see much less torture in the world.

[–] AngularViscosity@piefed.social 1 points 10 months ago

Oh, it's tongue-in-cheek. I'm aware it's not good for anything and actually think it's horrible.

[–] SpikesOtherDog@ani.social 1 points 10 months ago

If it was me, I would wait to say anything until I was under oath.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 19 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I think the more interesting part to emphasize is the last sentence. It really draws attention to the parts he didn't say

[–] puchaczyk@lemmy.world 19 points 10 months ago

So it's the horse...

[–] cannedtuna@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago

Yeah there was nothing stunning in that article

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

SHOCKING. I am so shocked right now. I was 167% sure Donald Trump gave Bill Clinton a blowjob, and it was in no way like that Couch fucking thing. My world is shattered.

[–] nymnympseudonym@piefed.social 2 points 10 months ago

It's sensationalist muckraker post-truth "journalism"

Exactly the kind MAGA has been churning out for years
