Cause HES are eejits! Rockfall has been a feature of the path for centuries. Stick up some signs and tear down the gates. This isn't a hard thing to do!

The section with the highest and intolerable risk has an estimated probability of a fatality from a rockfall event of one in 4,886.

What???

It means that for every 4886 people who walked past that part of the crags, you could expect 1 to be killed from falling rocks.

I understood that, it's just that that would be a completely ridiculous number.
Either math gone horribly wrong, or there is some missing vital context.
