Welcome to The Shitpost Office

Shitposts processed from 9 to 5, with occasional overtime on weekends.

Rule 1: Be Civil, Not SinisterTreat others like fellow employees, not enemies in the breakroom.

  • No harassment, dogpiling, or brigading
  • No bigotry (transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.)
  • Respect people’s time and space. We’re here to laugh, not to loathe

Rule 2: No Prohibited PostageSome packages are simply undeliverable. That means:

  • No spam or scams
  • No porn or sexually explicit content
  • No illegal content
  • NSFW content must be properly tagged

If you see anything that violates these rules, please report it so we can return it to sender. Otherwise? Have fun, be silly, and enjoy the chaos. The office runs best when everyone’s laughing.... or retching over the stench, at least.

i don't understand the appeal of stuff like roblox.

i played second life back in 2003 and it was boring as shit to me then. robox just seems like the kid-focused version of that in 2025. and yet three of my nephews are addicted to it.

Doesn't it have loads of games within it? When my son plays he might be shooting, or driving, or doing some kind of obstacle course.

It is a game where you can create your own games.

Playing minigames is nice, but using it as your own game engine is great.

Up to a certain extent, until it just becomes a storefront that takes 70%+ of your money instead of 30% (steam, app stores) 10% (epic) or 0% (self-published, etc)

Sounds like Yakuza games.

From what I understand, it's more like a Garry's Mod type game. Just a sandbox that let's you build fun and/or dumb stuff to do with your friends. I've never played but I understood the appeal after it was explained to me that way.

To me it's like fishing or cards. Technically there's an activity, but what you're really doing is shooting the shit in a casual social setting.

Years and years ago I worked for a startup that was building a 3D social media world (think Second Life meets Facebook). Dev asked me to do research on Second Life as a new user. Give my opinion of things like sign up, getting to know the software and worlds, whats wrong with it, what's good about it.

I spent a week in that thing. It was horrible and lonely.
