Our orange cat does this too. I wonder what goes through his brain cell sometimes.

One of mine used to do exactly the same, but I've learned that it's never an emergency so I don't have to get all worried and go check it out.

So now she yells at me from the next room and after a bit of back and forth meowing and me calling for her, she comes to me doing that adorable trotting run and gets the strokes and scritches and attention she was after to begin with 😁🥰

My neighbor's cat is mostly deaf. Because of this, he is so loud when he meows. When he's outside, we occasionally hear him meowing. He's seeing who will come and entertain him. The first time I heard it, I went to make sure he was okay. He was just chilling. He didn't want me to pet him, but he also didn't want me to leave.

i was worried i taught him that. i used to yell "where my kitties at" and they'd come running from wherever. it's a little late for that, but i'll see if it [edit:] works tomorrow
