Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I'm not American, and I've advised people to vote blue no matter who for over 20 years, so as a foreigner watching America slide towards fascism for decades I can tell you, American liberals are just as much to blame for fascism as the uneducated morons brainwashed by it.

Both parties have been destroying the working classes economic mobility for almost 50 years. Just because 1 party is worse than the other that doesn't absolve either of their sins.

Yet now, at the final hour, you blame a phantom left for not biting the pillow, as though that would've changed the multi-decade fall of the empire.

I tell ya what, though. Just cry harder and blame the left. It's worked for fascism!

"D-don't blame people who allowed fascism to take over... that's mean... but FUCK those who tried to stop it, literally as bad as fascists!"

About the level of discourse I expect from Lemmy at this point.

I’d say the big issue was being okay with the status quo for Democrats. A Republican administration would come in, set us back in several regards. Then the Democrats come back into power and shrug things off for a number of issues. For sure there were a number of problems they tried to fix and were focused on, but when the number of votes just aren’t there you gotta focus on the things you can fix. The main issue Democrats have allowed to simmer for some God forsaken reason and has made future problems was not trying to revert/amend the No Child Left Behind policies, the defunding of education, and not trying to bring back and expand the Fairness Doctrine to apply to all social media, including influencers.

I'm sure there are places on the Internet where you could sell that "ghost" story, but Lemmy during the runup to the election was like 45%+ people arguing for protest votes and vote abstaining as a means of "punishing" Democrats for a millenia-old religious feud on the other side of the world. Obviously this isn't physical, definitive proof that protest voters and abstainers actually moved the electoral needle for Trump, I'm just letting you know why no one's really buying it here.

Lol you're still on the blame strawman. Again, I am informing protest- non-voters what they voted for. That you keep trying to strawman this hard even after being corrected is funny. Ciao.
