Mr. Bedford rankled Democrats last month when he would not commit to holding all commercial pilots to a federal requirement to complete 1,500 hours of training, a standard he had criticized as the chief of Republic Airways, a regional airline.

Republic Airways, which operates flights for major airline brands, filed a petition in April seeking to put its pilot school on equal footing with military aviation training. Former military pilots can earn a limited qualification to fly airliners with 750 hours of experience, compared to the 1,500 hours typically required of civilians.

This mofo is going to rain bodies and fire down on everyone .

As an airline mechanic I was required 1600 hours of schooling to get my license....

Edit: and if you missed any of that time it had to be made up before you could continue.

I think a lot of people don't understand how difficult working in aviation is.

Every plane is different and has to be treated as such. 777 and 737 are completely different.

I guess we finally found out what would happen if we let CEOs run the country.

Appointing CEOs is the fuck around part. The find out part comes later when the planes start crashing.

Boeing already to care of that.
