I swear to God. One day I'm gonna meet a "blue maga" democrat when we're both in one of Trumps death camps and they'll still be complaining about how leftist didn't vote hard enough. Meanwhile they'll have done nothing but say this same thing over and over again during the entire rise of fascism.

To be fair, the last time the DNC got behind a progressive candidate for president, Nixon won like 48 states and it hasn't really recovered since. It's not hard to see why they are still in fear of that event. The issue seems to be the rotting shrubbery infesting politics from a lack of term limits.

Well, we already knew that wasn't good enough in 2016. But they ran the same "I'm not trump" campaign in 2024 and lost again.
They had a blank slate with Harris and decided to run a campaign of "I'm just like Joe Biden". It was a disaster of a decision to do that. The democrats needed to differentiate her from Biden. That decision alone was massive massive failure by the campaign. It had far far more negative impact than any "progressive" criticism could ever do.
And even ignoring Harris the democrats literally thought they could run Joe Biden again when he was basically a corpse.
No, the democratic party can do anything it wants.

I'm brown and had to live in the south before I escaped, many didn't survive.
We need to destroy southern culture utterly, as it's not only a truly great historic evil, it is literally the evil that inspired Hitler (as cited in mein kampf) and the nazis (as cited when writing the Nuremberg Laws).

You keep trying to make this personal and so there is really not much conversation to be had with you. I do empathize with you. I grew up in the deep South of Georgia myself. I too have an interracial daughter. So maybe if I give you a little bit of my personal perspective you might wake up a little.
You reference historical events. This is great. You're already on a good foundation for understanding what is going on. But you are still very much blindsided in loyalty to a party that does not represent your or my interest.
A party that has proven time and time again that they will abandon minorities or social justice for what they perceive (correctly mind you) as a right wing shift in American politics.
The Democratic party is adjusting to this shift towards fascism in an attempt to maintain their political power. They do not give a fuck about you. And constantly defending a party that is consistently moving this country towards the right because "it's not as bad for 4 years" is just no longer an excuse at this point.
I'd maybe understand that 10-15 years ago. But if you haven't seen exactly how the Democratic party has played a role in creating the situation we are in today then I don't think you're paying attention.
I am critical of the Democratic party BECAUSE I have absolutely no care to even consider the Republicans. They are a lost fascist cause and you are correct to be angry at them and their supporters.
But the Democrats need to be held accountable for their failures. There is a point when many of us realized the exact things I've said above and said "enough is enough" we must hold them accountable for their continuously right wing shift.
Harris literally ran an ad saying shed "build more wall". Like wtf. At what point do we not stand up to our own party?
