I had to read this three times to realize it didn’t say destroying the GOP. Because if MAGA has chewed anything up and shat it out, it’s the Republicans. They are playing their cards right now and there are no more left in their hand, ever. They’ll never be the family values party again, they'll never be the jeebus party again, they’ll never be the fiscally responsible party again - they’ll always be the party that got suckered by billionaire criminal Trump and tried to take the rest of us for the ride. Others will half-assedly try to imitate Trump once he goes to the great adult diaper in the sky, but they will alternately fail and eat each other alive trying to be worse than one another. The Democrats are right there, same as they’ve always been, will always be around, and if anything MAGA are keeping them on life support because “at least we’re not MAGA” is their number one selling point.

Historically when the Whig Party fell a part over slavery they were replaced by the Republican party. Many Whigs became Republican. Lincoln was Whig.

The current GOP's power basely relies on the Democratic Party being so incapable. A party with focused goals that aren't just derived or borrowed from the GOP will likely break this inertia, as is so needed.

Really need to focus on greater evil. Same tactics as dealing with loans. Deal with the one with the greater rate of interest first.

Are people really still fetishizing the Joker? This shit is just as pathetic as trump posting fake images of him looking fit.

Everywhere the English went they created first past the post electoral systems which are notoriously vulnerable to this situation. We shouldn't be surprised but we should be asking for something better before it's too late to make meaningful change.

Once the Democrats are removed from Congress, thereal Progressives will show up.
