Are we checking? This is a place to take a p*ss out of motorsports.
F1 is not the only motorsport in the world, so go ahead and post your shitposts about WEC or MotoGP or IndyCar or ralley or Polish Speedway or whatever. Even Formula E, I guess. It needs some love, too.
By the way, F2 > F1.
Rules? What rules? Stop inventing. Just don't be a douche. Lemmy.world's sporting conduct applies.

And still, he wasn't faster than Leclerc, when he had the chance
I mean it took 4 or 5 laps between him asking and the team getting around to do something. So yeah he lost the tire advantage by that point and the entire thing became rather useless.
^ This!!! Although I don’t think Lewis had the tires to catch 5.5 seconds & overtake even if they’d done it straight away, but I think he’d have been close to DRS range with still 4-5 laps left, they could have then swapped back & Charles on the hard tire could have had a chance at least…
Every sane team would have made the call on their own. "Team mate on faster tires from behind. Make room, we'll swap back in X laps."
When he got past LeClerc, he was making up between 3 and 5 tenths each lap, if he wasn't told to swap back, he would have been very close by the end. If they swapped him sooner on fresher tires, he probably would have gained the position.
Because he, Lewis, had DRS he was able to gain on Leclarc? Once he was past Leclarc he didn't have it and then Charles was on his tail, telling him to speed up because now he was stuck. They wanted to run calculations to see if Hamilton was given the lead would he make it...or will Leclarc's tires would come around and be able to beat Hamilton in the long run because Hamilton's tires will only be great for 4-5 more laps? I think they, Ferrari, need some help with strategy but I just saw it as Hamilton frustrated and having a hissy fit that he wasn't just given what he thought he was due right when he asked for it. Maybe he can wear another one of those rockstar fluffy jackets to the track...make sure everyone swoons over his style.
It seemed to me like they took so long the tyre difference disappeared.
Go back and watch. Watch the distance to Sainz. He was well in DRS, .5, zone while Hamilton wanted Leclarc to lift for him. So 2 laps of Sainz still in DRS and Leclarc's tires improving while Hamilton only had 4-5 good laps left on his tires. Hamiltons tires were shot to the point that Sainz was almost passing him at the finish. Sainz wasn't out of the race but Hamilton was more worried about taking a shot that he didn't think about the team, Leclarc, possibly being passed by Sainz.
