For 100 days, I've been sitting here while people say, "Why don't the Democrats do something?" and then one does something and people immediately proclaim that it isn't enough. What exactly do you want done and how?

“Doing something” implies a perceivable desired outcome. “Do anything” is a bar so low I’m surprised it is being defended.

You forgot to answer my question. What exactly do you want done and how?

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 1 points 7 months ago (3 children)

I want Trump tried and executed for treason.

[–] FenderStratocaster@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

....and how? How do you want that accomplished?

[–] ExtantHuman@lemm.ee 1 points 7 months ago

Impeachment is literally how that occurs...

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Go ahead and walk me through the steps towards that goal.

Sure, here is a way forward:

  1. Recall all democratic congressmen where state laws permit it, and replace them with those who are poised to act.
  2. primary the rest to set the stage in ‘26
  3. impeach, and dig into the myriad financial crimes and ties to Russian money this time.
  4. convict

This is the proper democratic means, if that even matters anymore.

I think a far more effective method would be several million of us marching on the capitol in DC. Trump obviously senses this threat is drawing nearer, which is why he has given bondi and hegseth powers to stage the military against civilians in partnership with the police. In this scenario I believe it will be over for the Trump regime, whether or not the military decides to act on these unconstitutional orders.

Hmm... why is he only filing them now? Could it possibly be because a candidate backed by David Hogg recently announced they were going to run against him in the primary, and so now he's scrambling to do something to not look completely worthless? Sorry, you don't get brownie points for putting on a performance to save your job.

I want him, and most of the DNC, to step down and be replaced by actual progressives instead of out of touch elites who have shown their incompetence far too many times

What do I want done... What a freaking question. It's like if someone crashed into your car and sent you to the hospital and they ask "well what do you want me to do about it?". We are way past the point of them being able to fix it.

That's even more idiotic an idea than what they've been doing. If they all step down, there's a power vacuum for the length of time it would take to initiate new elections, which this fascist regime would be more than happy to fill, and prevent those elections from ever occurring
