This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".

Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.

So, I started my first NG+ in ER, right? Started with lvl 256, first thing I did was get my second Bloodhound's Fang (and upgraded to +9 off the bat), my guy's beefed to 80 Dex, 40 Str, 50 Vig, 50 End, 45 Arcane (or thereabouts), the rest dumped in Mind and focusing on Int this run.

I one/two shot anything which isn't a miniboss, I slam into bosses like a freight train. If I'm bored, like with the crystal bastards, I drop a Mimic Tear and solve every problem in a 200 meter radius.

I reach Raya Lucaria. Died 10 times on the wheel thing. Ok, whatever. I'm rusty, stopped at Malenia a couple of years ago. Progress to the rooftops. Die 20 times.

And not just in Raya Lucaria, I'm frequently missing 25% of my HP because I just jump off buildings. I swear, it's like I die to falling off the map more than I did in my original run. By my rough estimates, lost (died, then died again trying to get them back, usually...) about 500k Runes to fall deaths thus far. The damage-to-fall distance ratio is the final boss for me, and overconfidence is still a fiend.

Your character has simply grown old. This is an accurate representation of impending bone and joint issues.

But he's been active, his signature move is a power stance jump attack (he calls it "hacking the planet," I don't think he knows what it means) :(
