Is this really "green" though? Heat pumps are efficient because they're transferring some heat energy from one place to another. Heat pumps don't generate all the heat internally. This just seems like saving money by using more electricity when it's cheaper
In a world where we do a renewables build-out, we will have an excess of electricity available at some times of day. Time-shifting its use in a low-tech way is definitely within what I'd consider green.
