Provided they don't use contrast or sedation, and you don't have any metal in you its incredibly safe.
I think the biggest risk is hearing damage from the noise of the motor
Maybe he's just irradiating himself on the side, as a treat?
Maybe, but he said he uses an umbrella every time he leaves the house to protect his skin from UV light so I'm guessing not.
