3 focus stacked images have been used to assemble this mosaic, the MAHLI camera standoff was around 30 centimeters (12 inches). From that distance, I estimate the horizontal scene width of the mosaic to be 40 cm (16 inches)

Curiosity performed the focus merge of the base images during March 17, 2025, (Sol 4483)

Processing of this mosaic was difficult due to the wide lighting levels, meaning parts of the scene were overexposed and the remainder of the scene was in shadow were underexposed.

At this time we don't have the mission update for this sol, so we don't know why they were imaging this target in such detail.

We can see the featured outcrop in the sol 4480 workspace L-MastCam mosaic posted a few days ago on this community. (just right of image center)
