Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

"Nooo, it's because they're actually a 1000 year old reincarnated male dragon!"
In her case is the opposite, a 2yo in a 20 something body.
Release the Neelix files.
Is this a reference to that person that wanted to be refered to with dragon pronouns a while back?
It's referencing all the loli fans who enjoy CSAM and justify it by calling the girls 1000 year old reincarnated male dragons.
Oh… Ignorance truly is bliss
Truly lol
Yep. Sadly it's staggeringly common in the anime community 😔
hey, at least they aren't lusting after real children
I agree there - i am pretty sure that this has more of a preventative effect than anything else. It also allows these people to actually realize that there's something off before they come into a situation that might hurt someone. For sure better than not having much of a clue.
These things often happen out of the convenience of the situation, and i am pretty sure that there are many out there that realized they have these impulses and simply stay away from being alone with children altogether because they are in principle good people that do not want to do harm. But that needs some possible situation where you can realize that beforehand, and the loli-trope is for sure one of the best ways to find out.
I'd rather they be honest about their lust instead of trying to deny what everyone can clearly see.
Not if they are hiding it from themselves as well - in that case, much better that they just keep fantasizing about cartoons and accepting painted body pillows as the best irl option
They can only be honest with themselves if they realize it first, which needs some contact with it without the possibility to cause harm. And if they realize it and are decent people (having these impulses do not make you an awful person - only acting on them does), they will decide to stay away from being alone with children. Whether they then look at drawings or not does not make much of a difference afterwards.
There are no statistics for things like these that are really showing the amount of people who fight with this because of the social stigma and massive consequences attached to being outed as someone who finds children attractive, but i am sure it's a lot bigger part of society than we all think - a big indicator is the all-time top porn category of "barely 18" and the amount of people who count down the days until a teen actor becomes "legal".
