I agree with this sentiment as someone from the north UK, you aren't correcting me, you're trying to erase my regional dialect.
Fair enough, I will continue to get pissy at folks who tell me "It's solder not sodder" I'll cold sodder their fucken faces to the tarmac. Kinda hard to get out of the adversarial mind set on these types of things when your culture ain't exactly doin all that well y'know? I probably am one of a couple hundred in my region with my old ass dialect that hasn't remerged with American southern or standard SoCal.
No one in this thread did that. You were the one who came in hot insisting silent letters are stupid.
Fair enough, silent letters are dumb but I really shouldn't have pulled up the sodder shite, fucken thing is linked in my head for some fucken reason should've only used it as a dialect example. Honestly the only reason I haven't gone and deleted the whole load of shit is because that'd be cowardice.
