Theoretically, this process can go on indefinitely, effectively rendering the jellyfish biologically immortal,[3][6] although in practice individuals can still die. In nature, most Turritopsis dohrnii are likely to succumb to predation or disease in the medusa stage without reverting to the polyp form.[7] --WP

Same family, different genera. American bison are genus Bison, while the African buffalo like the infamous Cape Buffalo or the Mediterranean buffalo that the fancy mozzarella comes from are each separate genera. Not sure how many types there are, but those were the ones I checked.

I feel there are absolutely ethical ways to harvest animals. Proper game management can improve herds more efficiently than just letting them do their own thing, and people like Temple Grandin have looked at even making industrial farming more humane.

I was raised hunting deer, and still do (though I've been reconsidering it a lot the last few years) and I've met some that really care, and others that feel like those on the train cars.

In the words of Johnny Carson: "I did not know that!"

And yet... we have too many deer and not enough beavers in the wild, isn't that right?

Yeah, lots of shooting enthusiasts on both sides of the family, so I've always been around firearms and hunters.

I've usually only been a target and clays shooter, as I've zero interest in anything I don't plan on eating. With my ex wife, she didn't like the taste (though I think it was more the idea it was deer), so I basically pretended to hunt and not shoot anything, but current wife loves it, so I started trying again. We actually had venison chops tonight, as I'm trying to clear out the freezer.

I believe PA is having a hard time meeting desired harvest numbers, though I don't follow that news all that closely. My brother was talking to me today about picking up some extra tags because there were so many left.

There was an active beaver dam on our property upstate, and I saw the beavers moving around while up there a while back. I hope they are still there, they were really neat, and baby beavers are some of the cutest animal babies.

Kinda implies that you're interested in eating the targets and clays

Yeah, I've read about that kind of scenario several times. Sounds great.

Re-introducing beavers can also be a great idea, sometimes.
