400 emails per week is CRAZY

[–] WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world 22 points 3 weeks ago (8 children)

Are you being facetious or do you actually have to interact with greater then 80 emails a day?

[–] floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 29 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Some jobs really are email operator in a trenchcoat

[–] ElChinchilla@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I sell and buy things all day, average emails per day over the last 3 years is about 120. 120 does not count auto responses from my system which go into their own folder automatically. I just emptied those last week, but it was like 93,000 in that folder. Took about an hour to delete them

[–] NewNewAccount@lemmy.world 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I send like two emails per day and it’s exhausting.

[–] prettybunnys@piefed.social 1 points 3 weeks ago

sometimes GitHub hiccups and I get a bunch of emails and while I COULD set a filter up to make it so I don’t lose “important” emails in the deluge …. Fuck that.

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 6 points 3 weeks ago

I can imagine someone who works in sales, marketing, support, or an executive assistant can be using email that much.

[–] RogueBanana@piefed.zip 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Pretty sure they were being sarcastic

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I definitely have coworkers that field that number of emails a week.

I don’t, fuck that, but yeah our support team does for sure.

[–] RogueBanana@piefed.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago

Ah if you are in support then I can see getting ticket updates on email which could be a lot. But for someone in a project team, it would be a lot smaller I imagine. I do get a lot of useless emails from the company like shitty seminars, company news etc that I don't give a fuck about which could be like 15 or 20 a day but I don't read any of them so wouldn't count that.

[–] Paddzr@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

I will read that many, sure, but a lot of them are reports with a line or two.

I send 10 to 20 a day from those 400.

[–] Kekzkrieger@feddit.org 2 points 3 weeks ago

those spammails don't write themselves brother.

[–] zod000@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

I sometimes get that many, quite a bit more if I count all the emails I automatically mark as read and put in a folder.

[–] inmate_p01135809@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

I stripped nearly all spam/unnecessary emails out and still get around 120 or so per day, about 100 of those work emails. I need to respond to maybe 10-20 emails a day, but I also get daily reports I have to read, project emails, support emails, emails from my kid's school, medical, financial...

[–] black0ut@pawb.social 7 points 3 weeks ago

I usually receive around 250-400 emails per day. Most of those are from automated systems, tho some of the automated emails still need to be checked out just in case.

"Only" around 100 of the emails I receive in a day are from humans. That still makes it 500 human emails per week.

Needless to say, I don't answer every one of them (they're sent to a shared inbox, and other people can answer them too), but I read most of them.

[–] reader@lemmy.zip 6 points 3 weeks ago

not if its an inbox limit

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

And only 3 poop breaks? Is that per day or per month? As it's stated, it appears to be for the duration of the contract...

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I need at least ten minutes per poop... If I get three poop breaks per hour then I'm spending more time pooping than literally anything else...

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social -2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Well, that's what you get when you sign up for the budget plan. Take it or leave it.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 weeks ago

Meanwhile, on the premium, previously-poop-break-free plan:

"I'm altering the agreement to now include poop breaks. Pray I don't alter it any further."

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago
