It'd be marginally less irritating if we'd stuck with 4:3 aspect ratio I suppose.

Yeah, I remember everyone was making fun of people recording videos vertically 20 years ago, now somehow it's the norm.

I often get told to take pictures vertically. Sure, let's get more sky in this picture. Its not like we are at the beach with a nice view on the horizon or anything. I live by the coast in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight is pretty much always in the background of any picture taken by the beach. At least it is when visibility is more than a couple of km.
