Now if people only had a choice to live in evil "15min cities" where distances are much shorter and feasible alternatives to driving are available and affordable, they actually could do that, without quality of life collapsing. Oh wait, having a non miserable life is no criterion for this administration, then forget that socialist 15 min nonsense, just drive less.
I'm living in one, or at least the 15-minute part of one. Small city in southwest England. I drive about once a week, to go out to the countryside to hike and visit a pub. Everything else is done on foot or on a bicycle. Highly recommended, despite it being totally evil. My MAGA relatives fear that I'm living in some hellish dystopia and it's only a matter of weeks before I'll be shot if I try to leave the city limits. They're already spun up enough that I don't own a gun and that I get my medical treatment on the NHS (which is under stress nationally, but still works well where I live). "Death panels," y'know...
Now, if only the locals could figure out how to make decent Mexican food, I'd be perfectly content.
