To be fair, it’s not a great test. I’ve worked in customer support before and if we deviated from the prewritten, legal-approved script we’d get disciplined for putting the company at risk. That’s what you get in a world where people threaten lawsuits at the drop of a hat.

(That said, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Uber have replaced all their support staff with AI.)

As a support myself — you always have options tho. They could've just you know, not answer? Or worst case scenario, you usually would have some templates for rude/unrelated question. In this case it's just a bot answer.

Yeah I’ve worked in those settings to and honestly I’d be surprised if those roles aren’t already replaced by bots because really what is the human being bringing to that engagement if they’re just reading preapproved scripting? They’re just acting as a flesh robot, not a thinking human being.

Or if they don't bother with anything but copy-pasted answers because it's less work than typing.

Don't attribute to ~~malice~~ AI what can be explained by ~~ignorance~~ lazyness.

Yeah this is from 2 days ago. No current AI would write such a bad response. Either they are using some AI from 2 years ago or its a lazy human.

The original quote was already stupid enough.
