Would people really have trouble when drunk?
It would be wild on acid or shrooms, though.
Speaking from personal experience, yes. A friend of mine had this as the floor, and it immediately gave me the spins which made me vomit on the floor.
Ironically, that immediately solved the problem, and taught my friend a valuable lesson at the same time
Drunk people would walk in and get all the way to the toilet before they noticed the floor.
That was my thought exactly. I don't pay attention to the floor much when drunk.
... and then from the toilet's position, the illusion wouldn't work at all.
Depends on how drunk
I don't think I've ever been that drunk, although I can pass all of the field sobriety tests while blacked out, so that might be a factor.
Are you under 30? If so it won't last
No, I retired from drinking in my mid 30s due to hangovers becoming multu-day issues. But at one point I could shotgun 6x Tallboys back to back and not feel a thing.
The only time I've ever truly blacked out was a Valentines Day party at my frat (it wasn't one of those frats) where every room had a different cocktail that you drank out of Wendy's ketchup cups.
The drinks were basically straight liquor and sugar, and the shots were so small that all of a sudden you realize you've been drinking liquor basically non-stop for hours.
And it's only like 5 minutes I don't remember. And that was immediately after smoking some of the strongest weed I've ever had. But I definitely had alcohol poisoning that night. I slept on my arm for 16h and caused a few years of nerve issues.
Yep, on acid or shrooms and forgetting it's like that. I'd probably rush in to pee, flick the light on, and immediately fall backwards in fright lol.
